Taking heART... unexpected time for creativity
My very first beloved principal and I made up a phrase together years ago as we opened a brand new school campus; we talked often about what it would look like for that place to "wear it's heart on it's walls." That idea has stuck with me and inspired me ever since. Designing projects that engage kids creatively is my heart's work and I guess these are some new "walls" to share it on.
As an elementary school art educator I enter the classroom each day hoping that the work I do there inspires confident thinkers with creative souls; kid artists who observe the world around them critically, respond creatively, and share their ideas courageously.

As a mom I want the same for my two young boys. Finding myself suddenly homeschooling them in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic (in good company with much of the world!) I realize I have an unusual opportunity to pour into them for this season, however long it may last. Like so many others, we are figuring this out one day at a time, having many moments of epic failure but one thing that feels consistently good is setting aside time every day to relax and be creative together.
We would love for you to join us! Set down your worries for a moment, shift your perspective, create some beauty and share it with your world, we could all use it right about now.... let's brighten our walls with our kids heART!
